In
June 2005, a Capital Campaign began to raise $2.25 million
in order to do the following:
Build
a New Community Center for enhanced fellowship and service
to the church and the community-at-large;
Allow
indoor recreation space and stage for use by our children/youth
and Child Development Center;
Add
a new kitchen to better serve our growing congregation
during Wednesday night dinners and VSP functions;
Return
our current Fellowship Hall into its former state as
a Chapel;
Provide
downstairs Sunday School rooms to better serve congregational
needs;
Revamp
our Children’s Building to include necessary bathrooms;
And
by tithing our funds, build a Habitat House in the Parkview
Community.
The Capital
Campaign Committee has completed the public phase of the fundraising,
and the group is now working toward building plans. Thanks and congratulations
to the congregation for “making their commitment real!”
