Park Road Baptist is a Place where Education is Celebrated in Freedom

Park Road Baptist believes in nurturing its members and encouraging them to explore their own spiritual beliefs as individuals. You will find Adult Sunday School classes studying a variety of Sunday School curricula, as well as books from many different theological angles. Many couples who were raised in different denominations have found that they can worship together at Park Road Baptist because of this freedom. The philosophy of “Truth is more a becoming than a having,” continues to guide our thinking.

All Sunday School classes start at 9:45 a.m., and childcare is available for children under three. Adult Education is also offered during Wednesday night programming (click: Family) and through various Bible studies (click: Pastoral Care).

Adult Sunday School

Genesis –- This invigorating class of young single and married professionals focuses on the formation of faith and the challenges of a spiritual journey. The group meets upstairs in the Fellowship Hall beginning at 9:45 a.m. If you are just starting out or newly married, you will enjoy this growing, fun group.

Futures –- The Futures Class includes both married and single members, typically with children. The class meets in the Fellowship Hall upstairs. You might find this group doing a book study of Marcus Borg’s, The Heart of Christianity, or debating issues from the scriptures. At times, this class sub-divides for various “tracks” of study, whether divided by gender, or topic, while coming together for fellowship and consistency. Come and enjoy this engaging and welcoming class!

Babylons –- The Babylons Class is formed primarily by married and single members with high school and college-aged children. They meet in one of the classrooms of our Youth Building. The group enjoys studying and questioning scripture and how it relates to our world. An example of their literature would be Six Questions of Socrates by Christopher Phillips. Come and join this stimulating class!

Welcome –- This dedicated group of Seniors is the perfect place to enjoy a discussion of the cornerstones of the Bible. The group is faithfully led and meets upstairs in the Fellowship Hall.

Dorcas –- The Dorcas Class is best described as a wonderfully, warm group of Senior ladies who enjoy the fellowship of one another and the study of God’s word. Come and join this delightful group in the Youth Building – Classroom!

Huskey –- Our Huskey Class includes a committed group of married and single members (mostly Seniors) that are very intentional in studying the scriptures. The group is led by a seminary-trained gentleman and is a great place to enjoy fascinating Biblical discussion. The class meets in the Huskey classroom in our Sanctuary Building.

Echerd –- The Echerd Class is our most intergenerational class with couples and singles of varying ages. This lively group is committed to liberal and open discussion of God’s word and work. If this stimulating class is for you, you will find them meeting in the Library of our Sanctuary Building.

Lydia/Fidelis –- This charming group of Senior ladies is fervent about their Bible study and service. They often fellowship and serve together in the church. The group meets upstairs in our Fellowship Hall and welcomes newcomers.

Patriarchs –- The Patriarchs class name speaks for itself as this fine group of gentlemen have served our church for many years. The group enjoys Biblical studies and fellowship. You will find them meeting downstairs in our Fellowship Hall. Come and enjoy!
