"...worship
can help them (teens) deal with a crucial question of faith: 'How
do I myself know that all this is true?' Teenagers may borrow their
parents' car, but they need to own their own faith. Worship can
make all the difference between 'borrowed' faith and 'owned-for-myself'
faith."

Sunday
School
Sunday School is divided into middle school and high school classes.
The Sunday morning focus is Bible study (where Sunday nights focus
on topical issues, and Wednesdays emphasize the practice of faith),
and is led by lay leaders who have a passion for seeing young people
grow in their faith and understanding.
Sunday
Night Forum
Youth Forum brings the youth together to reflect on issues relevant
to them and to have fun. Sunday Nights are filled with group building
games, movie clips, and discussion questions that allow youth to
understand their faith and their calling to faith in a youth- oriented
environment.
5:00 – 6:00 p.m. Middle
School Youth Forum
6:00 – 6:30 p.m. Snack Supper
6:30 – 7:30 p.m. High School Youth Forum
Youth Musical Opportunities
The Senior High Youth Choir/Musical Activities rehearses from 5:00-6:00
p.m. on Sunday evenings in the Choir Room.
The Middle School Youth Choir/Musical Activities meets from 6:30-7:30
p.m. on Sunday evenings in the Choir Room.
Each year, interests are discussed and our musical expression can
take many forms: singing, drama, playing handbells or other musical
instruments, presenting a musical, and even drumming! No experience
is necessary. Come join us and we'll plan according to the group's
interests. For more information, please contact Anne Hunter Eidson
at 704.523.5717.
Youth Missions and Fellowship
Wednesday Night Youth Fellowship gives our youth both “hands-on”
mission opportunities and fellowship. On most Wednesday nights,
the youth leave our church for mission ministries off-campus. In
order to participate, youth must be present by 6:15 p.m. Activities
end at 7:30 p.m.
Camps
During the summer, middle school and high school youth have several
opportunities to get away for spiritual growth and fellowship. Joining
youth from other Baptist churches, our young people travel to a
university campus for a week of study and fun.
Retreats
Separate middle school and high school mission trips take our youth
to cities across the nation where they are challenged to put their
faith into action in summer projects designed especially for their
age. In recent years, our youth have shared their faith in Toronto,
Detroit, Washington and Nashville. Locally, our youth participate
in fall and spring retreats including a ski retreat in January.
Leadership
The youth are led by Michael Kellett,
Minister with Youth and Children. email Michael
